I was doing some decorating a few weeks ago. I was planning to do this painted for the last 2 years, so finally got the paint and done it the same night. Get the job over with. My results for a painter and decorator are very poor. So started away, and whilst doing it, I realised the darker colour was not being covered well enough. So it was 2 coats, due to 2 coats, yes, you can guess, not enough paint. Half way through, there was more paint on the floor than on the wall. There was a lot of paint on floor. It was rather sweet Willow popping in every so often to see how I was progressing, until I noticed pink paw marks everywhere from living room to hall to bedroom. Och, why bother, sort that out later! I never do painting properly as a professional, I should have removed small mirror, but nah! I decided just to paint around it. I removed the book shelves just a bit along, and guess what I done 10 minutes later, knocked the shelves to the ground and all books, cd's, paper fell out. F***************************************************** The big problem was the computer unit. It has been moved, kicked that many times, I think it is just holding up. I had to move the unit to paint behind it. I was not going to undo plugs, wires etc, take me to long. I moved the unit over and just climbed over the wires. When it was moved, the whole unit sat at 45% angle. I am still surprised it was still standing, and never collapsed. But I had caught my foot on the wires, pulled the speakers down, and broadband thing. BF********************************* It's just typical, run out of paint, right at the last wall, which is only 60inches x 100inches. So I can only guess that this part of the wall will be left to be done for the next year or two. I painted the three walls a lighter terracotta, and kept the art work which I done years ago. Terracotta with white fuchsia flowers, above the fireplace. The lighter terracotta brightened up the place. When I sat down, I noticed paint marks on the big mirror, which I have on one side of the wall. I had to get the paint from Willows paws and try to remove the paint from the hall carpet. There was paint all over the floor in the living room, both bedrooms and noticed paint in the bathroom. Why I never do DIY with old clothes on? Day later, because I have a coal fire, there is big black marks on the wall where the light switch is. You can see every mark, now it's lighter. Guess there is one job, I would advise not to apply for. Started at 9pm and finished at 7am.
I am planning to paint the bedroom, I am looking for a cheap painter and decorator, would like to paint the bedroom pink. Whilst writing this letter, went past the kitchen, smelling burning. Burning! Burning! Sniffing away, F*********! Forgot I put pasta on the oven a few hours ago!!!!! It's sort of stuck to the pot. Believe it or not, I have not got one pot that has not been burnt. I guess a career in cooking is out of the question too. |
