A MARKET DISABLEMENT

One time in the (can't name by legal rights, so guess which one) Massive supermarket, I was astonished of how no sense some people have. I got to the cash out part, and noticed the lady in front putting her groceries back on her trolley. So I carried on putting my stuff through the check out, but she looked a bit upset. Whilst my stuff was going through the check out part, I had to turn around and asked if she was alright.

She looked a bit confused, and upset. She was partly disabled, as she had a stick and walked with a limp.

The lady told me,

'the lady at the till will not serve me because I have a small trolley not a basket, she told me to put my 5 items on a basket, then put items off basket on the till part, then put them back on to trolley'.

I said

"What!" rather loudly, I was stunned.
he was rather upset, she said
there is no basket here to put the stuff on".
was just stunned, so I put her items on the till myself.
I'll do it for you, she can complain to me". Considering there were only 4 or 5 items firstly. But mostly, the most important thing to notice was, due to her having a walking stick, partly disabled, she was elderly, it would obviously be difficult for her to carry a basket. Would it be too much effort to realise that the push trolley is easier for her than a basket, especially when you notice there is only 4 items on trolley.
noticed she was partly mentally disabled and she got a little bit in a fluster. The lady at the check out was trying to explain herself. Trying to make a rational excuse, which I could not see any. I said,
Do you not notice she is partly disabled, and a basket would be difficult to carry".
walked out, rather stunned, and I know I left her still being upset. But she got her groceries through till, so I thought she would be alright.
was walking to my car, and it was still bugging me. But me as I am, I could not leave it at that. I put my stuff in my car, and went back in to speak to manager.
he lady was still there and standing near the papers part, still upset and looking for something. I did notice she was partly mentally disabled, and I could not leave her there standing. I went to the information desk and ask to speak to the manager.
explained to the lady at the desk that one of their customers was upset, due to one of their staff. The lady over at the till, noticed we went to the information desk, and I noticed straight away, she pointed at us trying to justify herself to this female supervisor.
You can try and justify yourself all you want, I know you were wrong".
inally, the manager came out. Luckily it was the one which is not too bad. The lady tried to explain, but I noticed she was not making any sense to them, so I stood in front and said to the manager,
This lady here is disabled, obviously noticing it by her stick she carries that your staff should have noticed that she may struggle to carry a basket. She only has 4 items, 5 if most. Your lady at the till was being awkward, and would not serve her unless she put her items in a basket, then out of the basket on the counter, then back on the trolley, which she started with".
he lady was trying to explain there were no baskets on the till. But I said
That is not the point of this, can your staff not notice her problem".
he manager, which sounded rather, I suppose decent, maybe due to him being older said to her,
I suppose it's only common sense the staff should have noticed, and also noticing she only has one bag, I see the point".
o I just left her with the manager and his assistance, who he somehow or some reason took with him.
aybe he saw me and needed a back up!
