Need public viewpoint on this situation. I went out with friends 2 years ago, on New Year's night. Time I met them was 8pm. Now since I do not drink alcohol, tee total, but got a drink called advocate, I sort of don't mind. As long as I leave the bottom, it tastes disgusting. This was the only time I have taken a drink. Well except for many, many years ago, I go upset my partner finished with me. So friend told me to get drunk, handed me his beer stuff, it tasted revolting. Puke!! So what I done was biscuits in one hand, and the drink in other, so every time I took a gulp I took a big bite of a biscuit to disperse the taste. So altogether this night, advocate job, from 8pm to 3am, I drank in total 2.5 half pint glasses, with the bottom part leftover, in 7 hours, and dancing away all night and eating a few sandwiches. My friend at the end of the night wanted a lift home. Since I was not to sure if I was legal or not, I phoned up the police station and asked, "Could you breathalyse me, to see what limit I am, before I give me friend a lift just down the road, only 2 miles, just to see if I am legal?" Her reply was "We will not breathalyse you until you go into the car", I said "since I have never drink alcohol, I would just like to see what the mark is anyway". She said "We will only breathalyse you when you go into car, and start driving". I said "Well, is prevention not better than cure?" Her reply was "this is Zena, well if we see your car out we will stop and test you then". (I think my accent is maybe bit unique)
This went on for quite a while, I was rather pissed off. I said, 'so, to be breathalysed, I need to jump into car, drive along, run a few people down, hit a lamp post, and then you will breathalyse me?. "Yes2, she replied Oh well, say no more then. A friend turned up this night, and he gave her a lift home. I phoned up the Glasgow police station and asked this cop about this scenario. He replied, "I would have been more than happy to have breathalysed you". Now, this is hot public relationship or what!!!! But some people say. You should not go near a car if you even touch alcohol. I can maybe understand, but I also wanted to know what difference it made to me anyway, in this 8 hours. To accumulate all taken and all in this time, I had to define this very complex situation. Advocate is served in half pint glasses. But I could not drink a whole half pint, so I asked for the drink to be quartered and put into wine glasses. So it was ¼ at 8pm ¼ at 10pm ¼ at 12pm ¼ at 2 pm Roughly, remember with disgusting part at bottom left out. I looked up the website, the total of ½ pint was under the limit, think 1 ½ was just on the mark. So I do not know, how much over or under I was, and I will never know. |
