Looking at my map, I liked the looked of the path from Corrour Station to Glen Nevis. Forget walking from Glen Nevis to Fort William that would have killed me.
I got the train on 18th June 07, at 7.30 am, think I slept walked to the train, dogs not sure what happened, they aren't used to that early either. In the train most people were nice, except this fat grumpy man, looked like one of those obese Americans. He moaned telling me to keep my dogs away, so I moved. When you see the all that fat, hanging over, it's worse when his personality fits the picture.
I left the train at 8.30am, and started to walk. But right at the start, just in the first minute, my handle of my rucksack broke, so I had to just tie it together. The path seems to disappear then reappear, which made it hard to follow, I only met one crowd, which is good, I just love having it all to myself, and selfish I know. But I do prefer away from humans, I love it when it's just animals and myself. We passed a lodge, and if I ever get rich, I would live in a remote house just as that one. Creaguaineach Lodge.
In the afternoon, every time I stopped, Moss and Willow, my 2 dogs, rested flat on the ground. Think they were shattered. I reached Glen Nevis at 4 43pm, now is that good timing or what. I asked a friend to pick me up at Glen Nevis at 5pm. When I sat on the stones both dogs sat in a shade and fell asleep. It is not an easy path to follow.  |
